One of the many common qualities of Mariners faculty is that they love to grow spiritually and professionally. Each teacher and staff member has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as his or her Savior. Classroom teachers have earned a minimum of a B.A. or B.S. degree, as well as a state teaching credential. Over one-third of our faculty and administration have earned master’s degrees, with additional teachers currently completing graduate coursework.
Our staff’s unique “team spirit” is evident in daily morning staff devotions, weekly men’s and women’s Bible studies, faculty in-services, and other group activities that demonstrate our teachers are not just co-workers, but also friends. This positive work environment earned Mariners Christian School national recognition by Christianity Today magazine as one of the Best Christian Workplaces.
Each day teachers translate the school’s mission, vision, and values into rigorous academics, thoughtful prayer times, moments of encouragement and inspiration, and personal lessons of character and integrity. When alumni come back to visit, they want to see the beloved teachers who played a role in shaping their lives, character, and Christian worldview.
