Difference Maker

MCS Parents and Friends of MCS Invited –

On Monday, January 22, Mariners Christian School will host Jennifer Friend to speak to the community about homelessness in Orange County. Jennifer experienced homelessness during her childhood and is currently Attorney and CEO of Project Hope Alliance (PHA). In addition, Mariners Christian School will have an Installation called “214 Sq Ft” available for viewing the entire week. This installation was built by UCI students to demonstrate what an impermanent home looks like with a glimpse into conditions too many motel dwelling families are forced to call home. The average motel room is 214 square feet. This will be a powerful event with an important message and will help us understand what homeless families face in our community and how we can help. Since 2012, more than 850 children and their families have been moved out of homelessness through PHA. Mariners Christian School is committed to celebrating Difference Makers in Orange County as we teach our students how to BE Difference Makers for His Kingdom.
